Remembrance Sunday is 8 November. Last year Borehamwood's parade left Clarendon Road at 10.30am for the Shenley Road memorial; Radlett gathered at 10.30am.

Remembrance Sunday falls on 8 November 2026. Neither Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council nor Aldenham Parish Council has published this year’s arrangements yet. Both posted theirs in the last ten days of October last year, so expect the 2026 times around then.

The quick answer

  • Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026, with the two-minute silence at 11am.
  • Borehamwood last year: the parade left Clarendon Road car park at 10.30am for a service at the war memorial on Shenley Road.
  • Radlett last year: people gathered at the war memorial from 10.30am for a 10.50am service; Letchmore Heath’s started at 10.30am.

Borehamwood: parade and service on Shenley Road

The town council’s 2025 poster gave the running order (Elstree and Borehamwood Town Council, Remembrance Sunday Parade 2025):

  • 10.30am: parade starts from Clarendon Road car park, Borehamwood WD6 1BD
  • 11am: two-minute silence and service at Borehamwood War Memorial, Shenley Road

The council’s winter Town Crier said the 2025 parade on Sunday 9 November was led by Rabbi Gershon Silins at the Shenley Road memorial (Town Crier issue 51, PDF). Hertsmere Borough Council describes the memorial as standing “in the busiest part of town opposite Elstree Studios” (Hertsmere, war memorials). Any road closure notice for the parade will appear on our Borehamwood roadworks page.

Radlett and Letchmore Heath

Aldenham Parish Council organises two services. Its 2025 notice gave these times (Aldenham Parish Council, Remembrance Sunday 2025):

Aldenham Parish Council Remembrance services, Sunday 9 November 2025. Last year's times.
MemorialGather fromServiceSilence
Radlett War Memorial10.30am10.50am11am
Letchmore Heath War Memorial10.15am10.30am11am

The parish council said roads would be closed during the service and reopened shortly afterwards, asked people not to stand too close to the Radlett memorial so wreath layers could reach it, and served tea and coffee at Radlett Reform Synagogue afterwards. The Radlett memorial is the tall cross on the corner of Watling Street and Shenley Hill (Hertsmere, war memorials).

Bushey, Elstree, Potters Bar, Shenley and South Mimms

Each has its own memorial, and Hertsmere lists where they stand (Hertsmere, war memorials):

  • Bushey: School Lane
  • Elstree: Elstree Hill North, just beyond St Nicholas Church
  • Potters Bar: by Oakmere Park, with a Prisoner of War Memorial in Mutton Lane
  • Shenley: by the pond
  • South Mimms: by the White Hart pub

We have not found a first-party notice of last year’s service times for these five, so we are not printing any. We will add them when the organisers publish.

Armistice Day

Armistice Day, 11 November, is a Wednesday this year. We have found no published Hertsmere event for it yet.

Still to be confirmed

  • The 2026 parade and service times in Borehamwood and Radlett. Both councils published between 23 and 29 October in 2025; we will update this page then.
  • Service times at Bushey, Elstree, Potters Bar, Shenley and South Mimms.
